Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) students attended the App Strategy Workshop in downtown San Francisco last week, focusing on gaining and engaging mobile users.  Industry experts attended the session, discussing tools for building a successful business app.  The workshop involved practical strategies alongside with business strategies, including concept, launch, testing, and growth.

Students learned how to improve usability and speed in the “Testing and Performance” seminar.  Presentations also included data collection and analysis, providing a high-level view of apps and their ecosystems.  Panels also provided in-depth looks at how businesses, such as Amazon, operate by encouraging app development to engage and retain users.  OIT students were able to converse with developers and entrepreneurs after the program during the reception.

The workshop was sponsored by the Application Developers Alliance, a non-profit group serving the app development industry through advocacy and resources.  The event in San Francisco is one of many conferences and seminars offering opportunities for advancement in the app industry.
